As you may have already guessed, this is going to be about ‘GREEN’. There’s an awful lot of it about this Spring season in every hue and tone imaginable and in my humble opinion, it’s fantastic!!!

My absolute favourite colour; across many cultures green is associated with all kinds of things; It’s natural, symbolic of new growth, regeneration, wealth & prosperity and abundance to come. Spiritually, green is the colour of healing and green in the aura signifies balance, peace and can indicate ability as a healer. It’s no coincidence renewable energy solutions are known as ‘Green Energy’ when the sun is yellow and the sky and sea are blue…Nature’s resources.

It also has some negative connotations too, completely unjustly I reckon! Shakespeare possibly picked up on the Ancient Greek myth of Envy, the Goddess of envy supposedly having green skin and had Iago warn Othello of jealousy:

“Beware My Lord of jealousy!

It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock

the meat it feeds on” (Othello lll.iii)

Of course, Iago knew all about jealousy… I digress.

Weirdly, during the Renaissance they thought green a ‘bilious hue’ linked to an imbalance of the bodily humors. Thank goodness we have a better grasp of human anatomy, physical & mental well-being these days! 🙂 Although if you do go green you are probably suffering an imbalance of some sort to be fair…

And so, I’m delighted to have a goodly selection of green clothing and accessories here in eclectica right now. Here are just a few of my personal favourites: There’s more, so do swing by if you too are a lover of all things green.
